Members of the pop band Hanson pose for a group portrait on a roof in London in From left to right they are Taylor, Isaac and Zac Hanson. She was on the subway in New York City, headed home from work, when she saw a man slump to the ground and stop breathing. As she kneeled over him and started chest compressions, she called out to the packed train, "Does anyone else know CPR?
For about 10 minutes, they took turns pressing down hard and fast on the man's chest. At the next subway stop, emergency personnel were waiting with a defibrillator to shock his heart back to a normal rhythm. The man survived. As news of the CPR rescue spread, Tolani's employer, New York-Presbyterian hospital, decided to take the opportunity to remind ordinary people that cardiac events usually happen outside the hospital, and help them remember the ideal tempo to perform CPR.
They built a website with information about how to recognize when to do CPR, with an animated video of how to do hands-only CPR as recommended by the American Heart Association. It also includes a playlist hosted by the music listening service Spotify, called "Songs to do CPR to. The first song is Stayin' Alive by the Bee Gees. The playlist does raise the question: What kind of monster would run to Spotify to listen to the Bee Gees before attempting to save a life?
Hopefully no one. The playlist is supposed to help people keep that ideal tempo fresh in their minds, so if they do end up performing CPR, they do it better. One hundred beats per minute is a pretty fast clip, and chest compressions are physically taxing for the person doing them, so there's a temptation to slow down. But CPR is less effective when the tempo lags. With that in mind, we decided it was time for an update. We were very selective about the songs on our list.
The beat is the steady, consistent pulse of the song. Think of an imaginary metronome that ticks in time with the music. If you can tap your feet or clap your hands to it, you have found the beat. This is the same kind of steady, consistent pace you want to keep when delivering CPR. Popular AEDs have a built-in metronome that keeps the beat for you.
Not in love with the songs on our list? Not a problem!
The Staying Alive challenge can be completed so long as the Leftovers modifier is active in the raid, a new system that's a real improvement over the old method of going to find Hawthorne and acquiring the Challenge manually. Leftovers is also the name of the Triumph attached to the Challenge, and it should be automatically available to anyone taking on the raid. Once the actual encounter has begun, players don't have to worry about the Challenge until they've reached the first respawn restricted zone.
From there, the objective is to pass through the following 2 rooms without killing 4 specific Cyclopes 2 in each room. This means staying out of the firing line, and definitely not going for a Destiny 2 melee only raid run. Upon entering the first room, players will find a lone Cyclops, this one needs to be killed, and doing so will cause 2 more to spawn.
These are the enemies that must be left alive in the first room, so make sure that no one in the Garden of Salvation raid engages them as the rest of the enemies are cleared and the path ahead opened. The second room follows the same pattern, with a single Cyclops that needs to be killed, which then spawns 2 more that must be left alive. Neither room is an easy encounter, especially with two artillery bots firing into the fray, so players should make sure to stay either airborne to avoid splash damage and keep moving, or huddle up in bubbles and healing zones.
Leaving the 4 Cyclopes alive and completing the rest of the encounter will give a Triumph , as well as some extra Pinnacle loot in the pool. Feel the city breakin' and everybody shakin', and we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive. Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive.
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive. Well now, I get low and I get high, and if I can't get either, I really try. Got the wings of heaven on my shoes. I'm a dancin' man and I just can't lose. You know it's all right. I'll live to see another day. Life goin' nowhere. Somebody help me. Somebody help me, yeah. Somebody help me yeah.
Stayin' alive. Well, you can tell by the way I use my walk, I'm a woman's man: no time to talk. I'm Stayin' alive.
